He’s lent his talents to various memorable roles, embodying characters like Brandon Heat in Gungrave, Hotohori in Fushigi Yūgi, Klein in Sword Art Online, Jin in Samurai Champloo, and Hajime Saito in Rurouni Kenshin. He’s also portrayed Jet Link in Cyborg 009, Don Patch in Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, and Ensign Nogami in The Cockpit, among numerous Digimon characters.

In the realm of anime, Thornton co-directed the popular series Bleach, where he also served as the narrator.
