Carlos Pesina – Martial Artist | Motion Capture Actor | Mortal Kombat Franchise Veteran

Carlos Pesina is a highly skilled martial artist, motion capture performer, and animator, best known for his integral role in shaping the action and authenticity of the Mortal Kombat video game series. With over two decades of experience across multiple forms of Kung Fu, Carlos is a master technician of movement, specializing most recently in the internal martial art of Bagua Zhang—a style featured prominently in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance (Mortal Kombat 5).

Carlos has been with the Mortal Kombat franchise since its groundbreaking debut. While his brother Daniel Pesina portrayed Johnny Cage in the early games, Carlos continued with Midway after Mortal Kombat II, becoming a core part of the creative team. As a motion capture actor, martial arts researcher, and animator, Carlos has influenced nearly every Mortal Kombat title since the early ’90s.

Nicknamed “One Take” for his precision and efficiency in the motion capture studio, Carlos not only performs fighting styles but helps choreograph and integrate them into the game’s brutal and iconic combat system. When you see fluid, authentic martial arts in Mortal Kombat, there’s a good chance you’re watching Carlos in motion.
