Ho-Sung Pak – Actor | Martial Artist | Original Liu Kang in Mortal Kombat
Ho-Sung Pak is a legendary martial artist, stunt performer, and actor, best known as the original live-action Liu Kang in the first two Mortal Kombat video games. A true pioneer in bringing martial arts to mainstream gaming, Pak also portrayed the original version of Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat (1992), helping define the series’ iconic visual style and fighting choreography.
With a background in Taekwondo, Northern Praying Mantis, Shaolin, Tibetan White Crane, and Wushu, Pak has been studying martial arts since the age of 8. He is a former NASKA and PKA forms champion and was the 1991 Diamond Nationals Grand Champion in Men’s Forms. That same year, he became the youngest inductee into the Black Belt Magazine Hall of Fame.
Beyond his work in Mortal Kombat, Pak has built a wide-ranging career in film, television, and motion capture. He was a stunt double for Raphael in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II and III, and later starred opposite Jackie Chan as a villain in The Legend of Drunken Master. He also headlined indie martial arts films such as Book of Swords and Fist of the Warrior, where he served not only as actor but also as writer, producer, and fight choreographer.
From his role as Superstar on WMAC Masters to his extensive work as a stunt coordinator on major productions like The Last Airbender, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Olympus Has Fallen, Bullet Train, and Westworld, Ho-Sung Pak’s influence is felt across the action and entertainment industries.
